ambits is a collection of instrumental pieces that began july, 30th 2014 with the first composition "the valley". but the concept didn't develop until sometime after august 11th with the completion of the 3rd composition "lateral". it was around then when i got the idea to challenge myself by writing and recording 31 new pieces so that i could release one per day for the month of october 2014. there were no guidelines going in, other than to try to keep them different from each other, explore, and release them in the order they were composed. all selections were composed specifically for this collection. no pre-existing ideas or recordings were used.

the 31st composition "hallowed" was completed on september 29th, 2014. the project will continue beyond october 31st, just not under any pressure deadlines. the first 24 pieces have been combined for release as an album available at the itunes store, (runtime just under 80 minutes. total runtime for the first 31 selections is just over 1 hour and 41 minutes.)
